4th and 5th Avenue Dedicated Bike Lane Project
The City of San Diego will be installing new dedicated bike lanes along 4th and 5th Avenues between Date and Laurel Streets. The new lanes are part of a bike loop through downtown and surrounding neighborhoods developed in support of the City’s bike sharing program. Installation of the new bike lanes is planned for spring 2014.
City crews will change the left hand lanes on both streets into bicycle-only pathways. The work involves repainting the lanes and adding appropriate signage to let motorists and bicycle riders understand the change. No parking spaces will be removed or changed in this project.
An informational workshop has been scheduled for:
Thursday, February 27, 2014
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Balboa Park Santa Fe Room
2144 Pan American Road West
San Diego, CA 92101
With more and more travelers choosing bikes for regular transportation, the City will be working with community members and other agencies to build even more bicycle-friendly facilities in the near future. We hope that you will share this information with your neighbors and look forward to meeting you at the workshop.
